Domestra

Our standards

Code of conduct.

A marketplace only works when both sides can trust each other. These are the rules everyone on Domestra agrees to follow.

Effective October 31, 2026.

For contractors

  1. Be who you say you are. Hold the license you claim, keep your insurance and bond current, and never misstate your license, insurance, experience or reviews.
  2. Give honest ranges. Your range is preliminary and can change, but it should be a realistic estimate from what you were shown. Say what could change it. No bait-and-switch, and no pressure tactics.
  3. Contact homeowners only about their project. Use their details only for that project. Never sell, share or add them to a marketing list. If they ask you to stop, stop.
  4. Keep reviews honest. Invite all your customers, never only the happy ones. No rewards for reviews, no fake reviews, and no pressure or threats to remove one.
  5. Follow the law. Follow California contractor law, including written contracts and limits on deposits. Only licensed contractors may do licensed work.
  6. Treat people and homes with respect. No harassment, discrimination or unsafe behavior, by you or your crew.
  7. Respond and be reliable. Answer requests promptly, show up when you say you will, and tell the homeowner early if something changes.

For homeowners

  1. Share real projects. Give accurate details and photos, and a real phone number and email.
  2. Respect contractors’ time. Choose contractors you would genuinely consider, and answer when they contact you.
  3. Be courteous. No abuse, threats or discrimination toward contractors or their crews.
  4. Keep it fair. Post reviews only about your own experience, and tell the truth.
